Start by melting a bit of butter. Chop up some rosemary. Combine the butter, chopped rosemary, and walnuts. Toss into an oven for a bit. Take out of oven. Inhale the delicious scent of rosemary and walnuts. Sneak a bite or two.
Next: make an apple vinaigrette (one recipe here).
After this (and sneaking a couple more walnuts, because, dude, rosemary walnuts are easily one of the tastiest things known to man) crumble some blue cheese into a bowl.
Slice some tomatoes (and some cucumber, if you want) and toss with some baby greens.
You’re finally ready to assemble the salad. Fill a plate full of the baby greens/other salad veggies. Add walnuts and blue cheese. Naturally, you’ll want lots of both. Drizzle the apple vinaigrette over the salad. Enjoy and contemplate how truly good life is.
That’s it.
You’ll thank me for this.

Too easy. For any x, where x is anything edible, the first step in making an excellent x is always “Start by melting a bit of butter.”
I’m not sure how you could contemplate anything after biting into that yumminess…
Oooh, that does sound good!!!! I’m finally getting Tay & Scott to think beyond plain iceberg lettuce in terms of salad greens (baby spinach, radiccio & romain, hoping to sneak in some “wild” -dandylion- greens this summer). It’s lovely being able to expand their minds in terms of edibles. Means there’s a lot more I can make that they’ll eat. ;)
